This playlist is brought to you by my ever changing personality.
o1) Santogold - You’ll Find A Way (Switch and Sinden remix)
I’m still somewhat inspired our university dance teams - This song was used for a latin dance routine and something about it just made me fall in love with it.. Expect jaunty beats and the longing to be able to dance.
o2) Imagine Dragons - Bleeding Out
My housemate introduced me to the Imagine Dragons album a month or so ago and I wondered why I had waited this long to listen to it in the first place. I think every song has something special about it, it was hard to pick just one song for this list.
o3) Tonight Alive - Hell and Back
Tonight Alive have featured on a playlist not too long ago, I find myself coming back to them when I’m not sure what else to listen to. The song (and consequently most of the album) is generically pop punk however the chorus of this song has an incredibly catchy hook and speaks volumes through the lyrics.
o4) VersaEmerge - No Consequences
VersaEmerge have been quiet for quite some time until today (30/10) when they released a video for their track No Consequences and a departing message from the VersaEmerge. Not to worry, Sierra and Blake have rebirthed themselves under the name ‘Versa’ with new music to come by the end of the year. That’s so them. Anyhow, I really enjoy the video for this, it fits their new style of music to a tee.
o5)Martin Garrix - Animals
I had been hearing this song for months but it wasn’t until this month that I found out what it was and who it was by. It makes me want to party. When it gets to about 1:25, you will to.
o6) Selena Gomez - Come & Get It
Okay before you knock it, give it a listen. Not only will you be singing it over and over .. and over again (sorry housemates) but it actually takes influences from indians and asian music which gives it a slightly different twist.
o7) Knife Party - Bonfire
Like reggae and dubstep infused together. Works well along side Martin Garrix ‘Animals’ and a dirty pint in an alternative club.
o8)TNGHT - Higher Ground
The start of this song may put you off if you’re not one for incredibly repetitive noises but once you get past that it’s the sort of song that should be played loud. Another dance / electronic / dubstep influenced choice.
o9) Demi Lovato - In Real Life
I’m not ashamed to say, I have always been a big fan of Demi Lovato but I never gave her older material a chance. This song is fun all be it a bit girly. I’ve always admired her stylistics and voice control, and even though this song is short and doesn’t give her enough time to show of the extent of her abilities, her talent is evident.
1o) Memphis May Fire - Vices
Going back to my roots. This is by far the heaviest song on this months playlist. I’ve had a few troubles this month and in that stereotypical fashion, I’ve found comfort in relating to the lyrics. Think Asking Alexandria / A Day To Remember style heavy.
